I am home again from the beach, having had a lot of fun and managing to get sunburned in the weirdest places (serves me right for rushing the sunscreening process). It was our dog's first time, and he LOVED it. Not the big waves so much, but he like wading around in the breakers. The coolest part was watching a huge pod of dolphins pass by- there were about 15 swimming by really close to the shore. They were slapping their tails on the water and a couple breached. After the majority had moved on, one came close, literally less than 5 yards out, and started playing in the breakers (that's how close he was) right in front of our house. He stayed for about half an hour, until some absolutely brilliant (note the sarcasm) people on the beach waded into the waves trying to get close to him, at which point he left. Honestly, that was the surest way to drive him away, and we're not supposed to be closer than 20 yards anyway. These are the same amazing unobservant people who didn't notice this huge group of dolphins, despite their nearness, until a few had swum back and forth in front of them 3 or 4 times.
After the first week of Wellness, I've decided it's pretty much like I'd expected: incompetent teacher, incredibly easy work, most of which I learned in AP Biology last year, and also very boring. I got lucky, even though my best friend is in another class, in that another close friend sits next to me, and the majority of my class is made up of people from my school. Just about the only productive thing I get to do is walk a mile in the morning, which isn't even that far.
I've decided I need to go back to the bookstore soon, since I've finished all the new books I got last week. This doesn't count the summer reading, but I refuse to start that until July.
